Happy Weekend!
A-Ha!
This was quite a striking video back in the day, when MTV was THE music source and if you didn’t have cable yet, you just had to stay up late and tune into Friday Night Videos. It tells a story, and that story involves a comic. It’s obviously worthy of sharing here. I passed over The Dream Academy and Primitive Radio Gods in favor of this one. Enjoy!
If you’re in the mood to talk about some gender inequality this weekend, head on over to Drifting Through My Open Mind and chime in on the thread.
One of my favorite Cowboy Junkies tunes.
It’s been a long, hard couple of weeks for me. I’m skipping the open thread today, but feel free to treat this one as open if you have questions about WordPress, need to catch up with me, etc.
I’m planning to have a coffee post this weekend.
TGIF.
And did I mention I have two guest posts about Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns going at Comparative Geeks this weekend, one of which was published today?
Happy weekend, everyone! Here is a musical aside for my fellow Mumford & Sons fans—the official music video for “Lover of the Light.” Aside from being a fan of the group, Idris Elba is also one of my favorite actors, so seeing more of his work is a treat. That, and the story this video tells hits me right in the feels. Pay close attention, and enjoy!

(ed. – This post was written ages ago. I’ve been sitting on it for months. All through the craziness of March and April it was my insurance against waking up on a Monday and having nothing. That could have happened very easily, but it didn’t, because we have contributors and they rock. Jeremy’s got his own blog going now and celebrated six months of (more than) weekly posting here on Wednesday. And since I have the entire weekend to think about Monday, I think it’s time to put this one out there. Just so you know, I am a shameless Idris fanboy myself. I follow his Facebook page. I just love him, and this video.)
