Maybe the best single Stevie Ray Vaughan performance I’ve ever run into on the Internets. From the 1989 Presidential Inaugural Concert.
I’m moving my #WeekendCoffeeShare posts here from Just Gene’O starting tomorrow.
Also, Melissa and I are working up a little something special for next week that you don’t want to miss.
A bit late, I know. I almost saved this one for tomorrow morning, but I just feel like publishing something, so enjoy. This is one of those occasions where something I hear on the radio earlier in the week gets into the Weekend Music.
Aside from Beck, I’ve got nothing.
Look at this guitar. Just look at it.
An Austin City Limits classic. Since I’m thinking a lot about grandparenthood and mortality right now, it seems appropriate. I was ten years old when this was recorded.
I don’t actually wear my suit to dinner, but I do hammer nails in planks. And chain-smoke Camel cigarettes (I gotta cut those out). I don’t build houses, stores and banks, exactly. But I do build things. Social things.
Still my favorite YouTube guitar video. This is a minute and a half of pure virtuosity right here. It’s the look of complete happiness that does it for me. And the shoes. What shoes!
Happy Weekend! I should be around more here next week.
