The Redefining Disability Awareness Challenge

No post from me here today, but check out this blogging challenge. I’m hoping it gets a lot of participation, and I’m mulling it over myself. The Friday post is up at Part Time Monster, and I’ll have the open thread this evening.

StumbleUponBlog: Join me and together we can rule the galaxy!

That’s a way over-the-top headline just to get your attention. I doubt we’ll rule any galaxies in the near future, but we can dream. I’ve learned what I needed to learn about Twitter and drawn a blueprint for other bloggers to follow. I am now turning my keen analytical mind to StumbleUpon. Zac Brown plays . . . Metallica!

Video

The enigmatic blogger known as PeaceLoveGreatCountryMusic,  who runs the recently-renamed blog Apple Pie and Napalm (there’s a story there), asked me earlier if I’d heard The Zac Brown Band play Jimmy Buffett’s “Volcano.” As it turns out, I hadn’t. I said so, while thinking to myself “holy hell, you’ve never posted Zac Brown on your blog.” I went looking for their rendition of “Volcano” and found it. I also found this one, and since we haven’t had much hard rockin’ lately, I decided to post it instead. Enjoy!

P.M. Roundup

I haven’t done a roundup lately, and I’ve seen lots of good stuff today, so I thought: “Why Not?”

Rose Fischer has joined the 2014 Blog For Mental Health project. I haven’t had time to read the project description carefully, but it looks promising. You can find more information about it at A Canvas of the Minds.  And be sure to check out Rose’s interactive series “Redefining Disability.”

Quaint Jeremy’s thoughts has a contributed post today, “Nerdy is the New Cool,” from Candice of Carving out a Space. If you have a second or two, head on over there and chime in on how you feel about the epidemic of nerdery in media and pop culture, and the subculture itself becoming more socially acceptable.

The Leather Library and Taylor Grace, Author both posted Very Inspiring Blogger Award nominations yesterday. If you looking for a big bunch of new blogs to follow, you should check out their posts and check out some of the blogs they’ve nominated. Thanks, Taylor, for nominating me as the proprietor of Just Gene’O.
