Weekend Music and Open Thread

I’ve always loved this Creedence song, and even though Tesla was fairly popular back in the day, I’ve always thought they were underappreciated. Five Man Acoustical Jam is a fine album.

On Wednesday night, I came up with the perfect thing to post for a semi-open thread, but I didn’t write it down and I forgot it. I’ve been racking my brain for a couple of hours, and I think it’s gone.

So talk about the music or blogging or anything else that’s on your mind.

Open Thread: Chaotic Regrouping Edition

I don’t know whether I’m coming or going this week, so I’ll give you a couple of bullet points and encourage you to chatter away on the thread.

• I’m hosting a linkup at my newly-renovated blog Just Gene’O over the weekend. All you need to do to join the fun is to write an “If We Were Having Coffee” post and drop me the link. You get bonus points for visiting people who share their links and for talking to bloggers other than me on the thread, though. You can find the details at Part Time Monster.
• I’ll have an update on our various features early next week, and I promise you, the Wednesday comics posts aren’t going anywhere over the long term. We’re just reorganizing a bit right now.

Open Thread, Suzie81 edition

I’ve got no prompt today, so I’ll just thank a few bloggers for a linkup experience that’s been the highlight of my blogging week. Suzie81 posted a series of questions and asked other bloggers to answer them either on her thread or in a post and drop her the link. It’s a sort of community experiment.

Part Time Monster found it in her reader and ran with it at about the same time Suzie was shooting me the link. So of course I had to join in. I love stuff like this, especially if they involve answering questions. It’s like doing an interview. I posted my response late last night to be sure my link made it onto the thread before the deadline. EclecticAlli saw my post and posted her own answers not long after.  This morning, I woke to discover that Winter Bayne, Hannah of Things Matter, Nerd in the Brain, Apple Pie and Napalm and Not a Punk Rocker have also decided to get in on the fun.

It’s cool when linkups work out this well 🙂

Open Thread: It feels like August!

I’m a little late with this today. I just got busy.

I’ll be back to catch up on the WordPress and Twitter happenings after I mash a few potatoes, cook some greens, and drink four beers while I’m doing it.
