  1. Silly Captain Douche … erm … America. If she has to cover her eyes AND go back to the mansion to make dinner at the same time, she might crash her car. You know what women drivers are like.

    • They really did. I’m confident that Al Ewing will recapture their camaraderie when the two are on the Ultimates team later this year.

  2. Love the spectrum artwork. I might have to pick it up just for the art. I love artists who can do versatile face structures!

But yeah, she sounds pretty awesome. 🙂 Thanks for the post!

      • Interesting. I used to trace bodies to learn anatomy, but I guess using adult film actors would be one way to go about it. 😀

  3. I still haven’t gotten over the fact he said go back to the mansion and make dinner. WTF?

    • Don’t know if you’re aware, but she had a second one-shot as well. The first was her battle with Powderkeg an Moonstone, while the second one was a battle with the Sons of the Serpent. Both had art by Mark Bright.

  5. Her power set: Spectrum can turn her body into any form of electromagnetic energy, from gamma radiation to light to electricity to radio waves. In practice, this means that she can do more or less anything the writers want her to; she’s versatile that way. She can also fly and fire energy blasts, neither of which necessarily follow from “turn herself into stuff” very well.

Her power set is due to being able to tap into an extradimensional source of electromagnetic energy. She swaps her body’s mass for the energy when she transforms to em radiation. She can project energy from that dimension when she fires her energy blasts. So yeah, her blasts actually are a logical part of her power set. As comic book logic goes anyway.
