I am thrilled to announce that author and blogger extraordinare Melissa Barker-Simpson has joined the mighty Sourcerer crew for 2015. Melissa is a writer, a sign language interpreter and a mother. She is also a movie buff who loves superheroes and all things fantasy. She runs a fabulous writing blog. If you’re looking for writing prompts to help you get going, check out her Writing Room 101. You might also find reviews and interviews there 😉
Melissa has graciously agreed to review Arrow here. (Yes, I just said Arrow!) And you know how much we love TV reviews with comics tie-ins around this place. 😀
She’s also working on an occasional, just-for-fun series. That one will be better if we let the details be a surprise, so I’ll just say the concept is brilliant and leave it at that for now. Look for Melissa’s posts to begin once we get a little closer to the Arrow mid-season premiere on January 21.
You can find information about Melissa’s books at her blog, which includes her author page. She also has a Facebook page and tweets @mbarkersimpson.
Melissa and I met a while ago through mutual friends. We did a word sprint together. When I advertised for early-week contributors back in the fall, we struck up a conversation. I’m glad we did, and I am oh so happy to have her aboard.

Oh dear, now I have to catch up on Arrow! I’m only a couple episodes behind and I don’t think it will be too painful a task ~_^

I’ve only seen the first season and a half, and it grabbed me, but got busy and lost the thread 😦
I love it. Almost everyone I know who watches it loves it. Almost every comics fan I know watches it. And Mel is a witty, clever, talented blogger.
So, even though I probably won’t be catching up, and that means my ability to chatter on the Arrow threads will be limited, I think this will be a winner, and I am oh so happy to have some Arrow on the blog!

I love Arrow too. 🙂 I also have missed a lot of it due to a busy schedule. I am getting much better with time-management though, so I may be able to follow it better this year. Hubby can fill me in on details I’ve missed, or I may pencil in a “catch up” immersion session on a Saturday evening. 🙂 I am excited about this addition to my favorite blog. it’s Great to ‘meet’ you Melissa. I’m looking forward to your series. 🙂

I don’t know anything about Arrow. Would it be a good series to watch with my kids (11 and 14)? We all watched Walking Dead together (I know, I’m an awful mom) so they can handle a little gore or violence. I definitely won’t let them watch anything with sexual content though. I’ve been looking for another series for us all to start together. It was so much fun for us to all speculate and discuss and look forward to watching ‘Dead together and that doesn’t come back on for another month… Also, going to check out Melissa’s blog now!
