This seems appropriate for today. And I must say, you really have to cultivate a powerful hatred of country music to not appreciate Sugarland. Awesome, is what they are. Especially when they are covering late-80s Europop with Little Big Town and *gasp* Jake Owen.
Posting this a little early, just to see who might be about 😉
Some thoughts from me on the recently-ended Doctor Who season at the Monster before the day is out, if we’re lucky 🙂 Tomorrow if we are unlucky.
Happy Weekend, peeps! (I am well and truly back!)
OK, I did not realize this was a country song when I hit “like”. “Life in a Northern Town” by Dream Academy is one of my son’s guilty pleasure songs, so I thought it was going to be about that! 😀

Same song. Just a cover by some country singers. One of my guilty pleasure songs as well.

I’d never heard this one and I loved it! What fun. Glad you are back and feeling well!

Thanks! It’s originally recorded by the Dream Academy, who were more than a one-hit-wonder, but had a very short career. It gets a definite A+ for the lyrics.

My daughter is a huge country fan (Im seriously not sure how that happened) and Im an 80s pop kid – so this was a really fun combo.

It’s fairly true to the original. I started appreciating country late in life myself, and not really sure how that happened, either 😉
