Hallelujah

I was just browsing youtube for a quick music post and found this. Leonard Cohen from the Montreal Jazz Festival in 2008.

Thoughts:

  • Overall, he’s my favorite musical artist, and his taste in suits is impeccable.
  • Lots of people sing this song, but none of them sing it as well as he does.
  • The organ is spectacular here.
  • It’s rare to find a recorded performance that includes this many verses. This is one of the best versions I’ve seen.

Assuming the WordPress scheduler doesn’t have a hiccup, we’ll have a Batman post tomorrow morning, a Wordless Wednesday tomorrow afternoon, and my final A to Z post at The Writing Catalog tomorrow, as well.

Stay thirsty, my friends!

  1. What he has done in removing all the ceremony from religious icons and leaving only powerful stories is genius-this breaks me every time—and here I go again—clicking play

  2. He is a musical genius and my favorite, too. Thank you for the post. Perhaps we could have Chelsea Hotel sometime?

    • I’m so glad you agree, Sam, and thanks for stopping by. 🙂

Sorry about sudden decrease in likes from the Gene’O account. I got busy. You must know what the startup phase is like. We’re not through it yet. However, I do think I’m to the point where I can be present on WordPress again. I had to let it go long enough to crack Twitter, and of course, content-production comes before everything else.

So nice to talk to you again!
